Caffeine Scene

coffee shops, food, restaurants,

Ever have an ice-spresso? How about a monkey mocha?

Dickson is home to some coffee shops that seem to serve new specialty items every week. Some of these shops are comfortable retreats where customers can stop in to relax or work on their Blackberry or laptop while sipping a flavored concoction. Other places offer a wide variety of hot and cold coffees and teas that can be quickly prepared to go.

The Liquid Bean Pourhouse on Henslee Drive is one of the popular stops in town, serving a variety of hot and cold coffees.

Another caffeine destination in Dickson is House-Blend Gourmet Coffeehouse and Gifts, which has been open since February 2002 on North Main Street. Some of their most popular drinks in the warm-weather months are ice-spressos – blended cold coffees in a variety of flavors such as caramel, white caramel and mocha.

House-Blend also serves fruit smoothies and an assortment of teas, including Oregon chai, a spicy blend of honey and tea mixed with milk and topped with whipped cream. The store also serves sandwiches with names such as The Parisian, The Mediterranean, The Chesapeake and The Mighty Mississippi – pulled white chicken meat topped with barbecue sauce and served warm on country wheat bread.

Dunkin’ Donuts at 105 Mathis Drive is always a favorite stop, offering donuts, specialty hot and cold coffees, breakfast sandwiches, whole coffee beans and much more.
